GRADIFY (operated by GRADIFY Technologies Incorporated) provides college and career planning tools for students, families, and schools. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information when you use gradify.io and related services.
We may collect identifiers (such as name and account identifiers), school affiliation and grade level, career assessment responses and planning activities, usage data, and contact information you provide. We may also use persistent identifiers to support the internal operations of the platform.
For users under 13, we collect personal information only as permitted by the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and its implementing Rule, as amended. We do not collect biometric identifiers or government-issued identifiers from children, and we do not collect more information than is reasonably necessary for a child to participate in the service.
School and district context. When a school or district authorizes GRADIFY to provide educational services, the school may consent to the collection and use of student personal information on behalf of parents, consistent with FTC guidance under COPPA, solely for the educational purpose for which it was provided. We do not use information collected in this context for any commercial purpose unrelated to that educational service.
Direct parental consent. For any collection or use of a child's personal information outside the school-authorized educational context — including GRADIFY Family+ and community programs not provided through the child's school — we obtain verifiable parental consent directly from a parent or guardian before collection.
Separate consent for third-party disclosures. We do not disclose a child's personal information to third parties for purposes that are not integral to providing the service without separate verifiable parental consent. We never condition a child's participation on a parent agreeing to such disclosures, and we do not use or disclose children's personal information for targeted advertising.
Parental rights. A parent may, at any time, review the personal information we have collected from their child, refuse to permit further collection or use, and request deletion, by contacting us at admin@gradify.io or 704-890-9689, or through their child's school administrator where the school authorized the collection.
Student information is used to support educational and career-planning purposes for participating schools and authorized users. We do not sell student personal information. See our Student Data Privacy page for our full commitments, our role under FERPA, and state student-data-privacy compliance.
We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients, and only as needed to operate the service: (i) the user's authorized school, district, or program sponsor; (ii) service providers that host, maintain, secure, or support the platform under written contracts requiring them to protect the information and use it only to provide services to us (for example, cloud hosting, messaging delivery, and analytics providers); and (iii) authorities where required by law. A current list of the categories of service providers we use is available on request at admin@gradify.io. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
If you opt in to SMS, we use your mobile number and consent records to send messages you requested or that relate to your account or program. Where the intended recipient is a minor, we obtain consent from a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult rather than from the minor. GRADIFY does not sell or share SMS opt-in data or consent for unrelated third-party marketing. Message frequency varies. You may revoke consent at any time by replying STOP or by any other reasonable means, including contacting us at admin@gradify.io. See SMS Terms for rates, opt-out, and help instructions.
We maintain a written information security program with administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include access controls, encryption of personal information in transit and at rest, logging and monitoring, and periodic review of our safeguards. We require our service providers to maintain comparable protections by contract.
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service and to meet legal or contractual obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. We do not retain children's personal information indefinitely. Account and profile data is retained while the account is active and for up to 12 months after the account is closed or the related school or program agreement ends; assessment and planning data is retained on the same schedule unless a school agreement specifies otherwise; SMS consent records are retained for 4 years to document consent as required by applicable messaging regulations. When a school or program agreement ends, we delete or return the associated student data within 45 days of request, except where retention is required by law.
Depending on your role (student, parent, staff, or administrator) and your state of residence, you may request access, correction, or deletion of certain information, and to appeal a denial of a request. Student educational records are generally handled through your school or district; please direct those requests to your school administrator, who may coordinate with us.
